Trailer Production

Here is how we developed the film, i know it's not ideal, but we were unable to keep adding video after video, so what we did was screen shot how it was made, this was due to the fact that we are unable to keep on saving the movie, because it takes an awful long time and then when you update it, it naturally over-rights it. This is the reason for the screen shots with the explanations.

ONE

This is the very first stage of beginning to make our trailer, the Editor we decided to use is called Windows Live Movie Maker, we tried to upload our clips to an Apple Mac and use IMovie, however out clips failed to load time and time again, this was slightly disappointing for the group because Imovie have better ratings that Windows Live Movie Maker.
Forgetting that, this was perfectly easy to use and to understand, and to add the clips in what we had to do was click on the add photo/video which is highlighted yellow, before this process we went through all the clips and names them (USE) and there was about 20, so we added all them in at the begging.

TWO

You can see in the big yellow square that this is all the clips that are full length and we just freshly added them in, if you look closely at the far right you can see the scroll bar and we were at the bottom of the clips. The clips appeared small on the left, until you clicked the full screen button.
To trim every single clip we added, we have to decide what parts look good and the at the top of the image you can see the trim/split tool. Whilst you are playing a clip (like the one with chair highlighted blue) you can press the split tool to break the clip up into however many pieces you like, and the trim tool shortens the clips from start time, to end time. So you can gain the perfect clip you want.

THREE

You can see in the smallest highlighted box that we have began to add text into our Trailer, and we have shortened all the clips to what we think works, and the scroll bar it a lot smaller.  At the tip of the arrow is what you see in the corener of a clip when you use of the Visual Effects in the long yellow box, this tells you that you have added an effect. Some of the visual effects make the clips blend better together and the transitions are less harsh which makes it look more profesional. Depending on which you use, some effects do look a little amatuer.

FOUR

This is part where you add animations to your clips, some of them work really well, like the blur one, but I didn’t want to make my Trailer look like I added lots of animation because it might look a little fake and amateurish, so I only decided to use one of these effects.

FIVE

All the things in the yellow bar at the top are the key elements that make the trailer, by adding title’s makes the text part really easy, and then you add an animation make it rise towards the screen which looks really creepy, at the end of the yellow bar is where you can instantly upload the finished trailer to social networking sites which is a great asset.

SIX

This is how we began to record the sound, your saw earlier how the sound was recoded. When we recorded the sound it saved in my documents ready to add in the trailer.

SEVEN

This is how the sound was inserted, you click the add music button and open the sound on clip you wish for it to play over.

EIGHT

You can see that this is our trailer very far developed, it was a real shame that you are unable to post videos because you can only save it once, however I thought that this would survice as you can tell in the images that we are progressing and we are nearly finished. You can see how much sound we have added in, but somethimes you can imagine the sound is too loud or the video is to loud, so you can go on vidoe/music tools, then click on the sound, and turn it down, so you can hear the voice over more clear, or the video. You can also shorted when the sounds starts and ends so it fits in well with the timing of our Trailer. I am now neaky finished just adding last minute changes, then I will be finished.
